There is no green end and no red end. A scale that colours its own extremes has already told you which one to be ashamed of.

Why we would rather you did not hotlink
Every badge here works as inline SVG: you paste the markup, and it renders with no external font, no external file, and no request to us. That is the version we recommend, and the level pages give you the exact snippet.
A hotlinked badge is a tracking pixel on your page. It would tell us the URL of every article that carries a declaration, and how often each one is read. We do not want that data, and a standard whose whole subject is honesty has no business collecting it quietly. The hosted files are here because sometimes you genuinely need a URL — not because we want the traffic.
Rules for the marks
- Do not recolour a level to imply it is better or worse than another.
- Do not put a mark on work you did not make the declaration for.
- Do keep the link. A mark with no definition behind it is decoration.
- Do translate them. Do redraw them. Do fork the whole thing.
Where it goes
A byline. An article footer. A video description. An about page. A README. A model card. A podcast's show notes. An email signature. The description field of a search result. Anywhere a reader would reasonably want to know what they are reading.
